No matter what happens - Giving up is not an option. Never give up. For a long time, I listened to people who didn't do anything but work for others. I could sing, sew, draw, write books, and scripts, invent things, and countless other stuff. I even made beauty products and health tonics. I didn't have enough confidence in myself.
One day while I was in my office, my Mother knocked on the door. When I opened the door, she looked at my face and said, "You're very talented Jay." 'Talented than most people. You are a Jack of All trades AND A Master of All of Them. But you go from one thing to the next and never give the first thing a chance to flourish, create residual income so you can do Your other creations. How about doing one thing at a time, until it's finished, and then doing your best to make it Soar? Then, You can move on to the next idea. Can you do that?' I said, "Yes, I can." But I was stuck on And A Master of All of Them. So, every time I created something, I'd think about what My Mother said.
There's a high you get when you're being creative. But Mom was right. You can't be successful being a scatterbrain. You must be focused and organized, as well. Doing the work is only half of it. And I'm not doing the work so I can make the stuff and have it in a corner somewhere. I want people to see it, like and BUY IT. I told certain people about my work. I got the opinions of people who I trusted, people who cared about Me. I gave them or showed them my stories, drawings, beauty products, and music. I got a lot of positive feedback. I was on the right track. And this was the beginning of something wonderful.
To be successful, you must surround yourself with positive things and people. Even if you get negative feedback, use it as fuel to keep going or improve what you need to make better. You must have confidence in Yourself or else it's not going to happen. And put the work in. Do the Work. Build inventory with beautiful things that are dear to you because other people will like them, too. Take your time and perfect Your Craft. You have the skills to turn Your ideas into a money-making venture that will benefit you and Your Family.
